Suppose that the Bernese population suddenly became much older due to bacteria. What kind of stories would be generated? This question is investigated by the research duo Frida in their performance.

The traffic light is green. «Based on studies by the Federal Office of Statistics, Canton Bern, the average age of inhabitants of the capital could become 126 years, due to the increased occurrence of Turritopsis dorhnii bacteria found in the Aare sluice. The repeated recording of these jellyfish-like microbes due to summertime swimming in unhygienic conditions causes singultus. These parasites enter the bloodstream and infiltrate the cell transformation process of the host. The resulting cell division mutation slows down the patient’s aging process.»

The traffic light is red. In the form of a stop-and-go-musical theatre, Duo Frida tells stories of the infected residents in twenty vignettes on almost eighty square meters. Adhering to the spirit of contemporary life, the duration of the pieces correspond to the green phases of Bern’s most uncomfortable pedestrian crossing.
Admission free.
Duration: 20 green phases
