In his pioneering 1964 work "La fabbrica illuminata" (The illuminated factory) for soprano and tape, Luigi Nono wanted to take a look at the kinds of sounds found in factories. In his later works, he turned to attuning our senses to the softest sounds and noises in space; an attempt to "wake up" our culture of listening. With "La fabbrica illuminata", "Das atmende Klarsein" (The Assuredness of Breath) and other works including world premieres and a film documentary, we show reverence for the work of this pioneer of electronic sound.
